Each formula goes through multiple independent testings and adheres to the local health authorities’ advisories to protect and keep our users safe.Â

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS WE USE
75% Ethyl Alcohol (Ethanol)
For effective antimicrobial activity (how fast it works and what germs it kills.)
According to the WHO Guidelines* on Hand Hygiene in Health Care, the antimicrobial activity of alcohols results from their ability to denature proteins and alcohol solutions containing 60–80% alcohol are most effective. Alcohols have excellent in vitro germicidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative vegetative bacteria (including multidrug-resistant pathogens such as MRSA and VRE), M. tuberculosis, and a variety of fungi.
MaxShield Products that contains 75% Ethyl Alcohol(Ethanol):Â Instant Hand Sanitizer, Gel Hand Sanitizer, Alcohol Foam Hand Sanitizer.
0.5% Chlorhexidine gluconate
For longer lasting protection. (Residual protection activity on skin)
Based on research cited by WHO*,  formulas with Chlorhexidine has significant residual activity. Addition of low concentrations (0.5–1%) of chlorhexidine to alcohol-based preparations results in significantly greater anti-microbial residual activity than adding alcohol alone. When used in the recommended concentrations Chlorhexidine has a good safety record and true allergic reactions to chlorhexidine gluconate are very uncommon.
MaxShield Products that contains 0.5% Chlorhexidine gluconate:Â Instant Hand Sanitizer, Gel Hand Sanitizer, Aqua Hand Sanitizer, Aqua Foam Hand Sanitizer.
0.08% Benzalkonium Chloride
Recommended for younger children, people with sensitive skin or who are allergic to alcohol.
A quaternary ammonium compound that has biocide properties and is widely used as an antimicrobial preservative for pharmaceutical products in skincare, eyedrops and even antiseptic mouthwash and shampoos. In higher concentrations, it is used as an antiseptic and disinfectant. It is also used in hospitals as an active ingredient in surgical disinfection. It is recommended for younger children, people with sensitive skin or who are allergic to alcohol. In a one laboratory-based study cited by the WHO*, it is reported that an alcohol-free hand sanitizer product containing a quaternary ammonium compound was efficacious in reducing microbial counts on the hands of volunteers.
